Tap and Hold Image Maker

One PNG, two faces — the picture changes when people press and hold it on X.

overview

Tap and Hold Image Maker turns an ordinary picture into a two-state PNG for X (Twitter): the timeline shows one image — or almost nothing — and pressing and holding it reveals another. Upload a picture and choose what stays visible as the teaser, or swap between two different pictures, check both states in a live side-by-side preview, then download a PNG tuned to survive X's image pipeline. Everything runs in your browser, nothing is uploaded, and it takes about a minute — free, no signup, no watermark.

what it does

  • Hide parts of one picture — or swap two pictures — in a single press-and-hold PNG
  • Live side-by-side preview of both states: white timeline vs. black press-and-hold view
  • Output tuned to X's real image pipeline so the reveal survives re-encoding
  • 100% in-browser and free — no upload, no signup, no watermark
  • One PNG, two faces
  • Press-and-hold reveal
  • 100% in-browser

why i built it

When the 長押しで変化 ("changes when you long-press") trend exploded on X in July 2026, every one of those images was still being made by hand — Photoshop layers, alpha-channel math, and a lot of post-and-delete testing, because the trick is fragile: an image that looks perfect in an editor dies the moment X re-encodes it. So I built the maker around the failure modes instead of the happy path. It previews the exact two states viewers will see — the white timeline and the black press-and-hold view — keeps the output inside the limits where X preserves the effect, and warns you before the file gets big enough to break it. And since the whole thing is per-pixel canvas work, it runs entirely client-side: nobody's fan art ever touches my server.
